Love is patient….and during times like these we couldn’t believe this to be more true. Couples across the world are having to make the difficult decision to postpone their big day or decide to cut their guest count in half and have a smaller wedding.
These decisions aren’t easy but are necessary in order to keep your family and friends safe during these unprecedented times. We know no matter what decision is made, our couples and those also going through this will end up having the wedding of their dreams and that it will all work out just the way it is supposed to be.
While trying to decide which decision is right for you and your family, the Bella Babes got together and made a list of advice and pointers to help ease your decision!
Is it worth postponing? Why?
These are a few things you need to ask yourself while considering postponing:
Do I want all my guests to attend that were originally invited (More than likely your guest count is going to drop. Right now, people don’t feel as comfortable being in a crowd of people they may not know. They may also have to decline if someone in their family is high risk or if they themselves are high risk.)
Is it important for you to have the guest count you always envisioned having a part of your big day?
Are you ok having a smaller, more intimate wedding. Many of our couples have postponed purely because they want a larger wedding and if that’s something you want than postponing is definitely your best bet!
Are you ok with out of country guests not being able to attend? I have to ask all my clients who are considering postponing this. Why? Because in many cases our weddings have someone who lives in another country that is extremely important to them. I have had a few weddings postponed because family and/or Bridal Party members that mean the world to them can’t travel to be at the wedding.
Your wedding is worth postponing because your wedding day is supposed to be relaxing, memorable, and enjoyable. With all the restrictions we have going on right now, the dynamics and intimacy that weddings have, has changed.
The first thing you need to do is decide as a couple if postponing is what you want to do:
Talk with your planner & your venue to see what policies are in place for postponing
You are going to want to talk with the venue and see what dates/timeframes they are offering for you to rebook a new date. Be sure to ask if there are going to be any re-booking fees that would be associated with rebooking the new date as well.
Once a few dates are chosen to postpone to, confer with your vendors to ensure there is a date that fits everyone’s schedule. Just because the venue has that availability does not mean all your vendors will.
Just be sure to communicate with your vendors and they are more than likely going to work with you on a new date. Again, don’t forget to ask if any fees will be associated for rebooking!
If a vendor isn’t available on your new date – ask what your financial options are!
Have your planner make the official announcement to postpone the wedding
Be sure to get this in writing and ask to sign a new contract
These tips are an awesome starting point and can definitely help break things down so the process doesn’t feel so overwhelming.
If you are booked with Bella Sposa, we want you to know *more than ever* that we are here for you and we sympathize with you. We will all get through these difficult times, and love will ALWAYS win! For now, enjoy the chapters to come in your love story and know your big day will happen.
Shoutout to all of the amazing Bella Babes for giving their advice and tips to make this post helpful for all brides!
January 25th – a beautiful day for a wedding. As we look back we remember the love that filled Club Lake Plantation and the love that was shared between this special couple.
Mayra and Chris met at the UCF Police Department where they both work – they quickly fell in love and Chris knew he wanted to make Mayra his wife as well as become one big family with their kids.
Rough, emotional news hit Mayra’s family. They were told her father was going to pass away and that he needed to be moved to Hospice. Chris wanted to be able to ask his permission and for him to be able to witness this special moment. Days before Mayra’s father passed – Chris got down on one knee in the Hospice room in front of Mayra’s entire family. It was an extremely emotional moment but also extremely special.
When it came to choosing a wedding venue – it was all God’s plan. Club Lake was booked on the day Chris and Mayra wanted to get married. They still decided to take a tour and instantly fell in love with the natural beauty. After five minutes of touring – the date they wanted miraculously opened up due to a cancellation. It was meant to be.
Flash forward to January 25th – it was finally time to get Mayra and Chris married. Mayra spent the morning getting ready alongside her closest friends, and Chris’ daughter.
Family and friends quickly gathered under the gorgeous oak trees – Mayra got her gorgeous dress on and it was finally time for her to be escorted down the aisle.
Chris’ daughter and Mayra’s son walked the aisle before the wooden doors re-opened for Mayra.
The gorgeous doors opened, family and friends stood and Mayra looked like a glowing princess.
She walked the first half of the aisle by herself and met her two brother’s halfway to walk her the rest of the way. It was a moment for her to think of her father and for him to be remembered in a special way.
After a personal ceremony, and this family finally become one – the new Mr. & Mrs. were pronounced husband and wife and shared their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Gavette.
Guests were invited to share in an evening full of fun dancing, laughter, delicious food and lots of love. The reception space was elegantly decorated with twinkling lights and lots of greenery. It was so simple yet so elegantly beautiful.
For the delicious cake – Sweets by Iris beautifully decorated with greenery. The cake tasted SO good and looked so perfect within the reception space.
This couple danced the night away alongside their favorite people – it was amazing to be a part of.
Thank you so much Mayra and Chris for allowing us to be a part of your special day. Bella Sposa wishes you both nothing but a lifetime of happiness and love with your beautiful family.
And a special thank you to the following vendors for making this day possible:
Let’s take a look back on the most magical wedding day –
Mr. & Mrs. Starkey tied the knot on March 31st, 2019 – and to say it was spectacular is an understatement.
This wedding has it ALL – from live performances, to a prosecco bar, a whimsical forest theme with trees and twinkling lights galore…this special couple truly knew how to plan an unforgettable evening.
Shannon and Sage met while playing love interests in a musical, they developed a close friendship which eventually turned into a relationship.
Sage decided he wanted to propose during a family Christmas vacation in Jamaica. He planned out every little detail and even met with the resort’s activities director to plan a reenactment of how the couple met during the resort’s evening show. Sage created a script for them to perform – it was all supposed to be perfect. Until, Shannon’s parents weren’t feeling well and wanted to skip out on the show!
Sage had to quickly improvise, he asked them to take a photo and quickly got down on one knee. He forgot everything he was going to say and just took the ring out. Shannon said the quickest and easiest “YES!” of her life.
When it came to wedding planning and picking a venue, the couple had no issues. They instantly fell in love with Club Lake Plantation and Shannon said her second easiest “YES!” ever! They were swooning over the romantic oak trees canopying the ceremony site. The second they walked under the outdoor crystal chandelier they knew this is where they had to say “I DO!”
March 31st quickly approached. Shannon spent the morning in the Club Lake bridal suite getting ready amongst some of her favorite people. It was a perfect start to this very special day.
Once their guests arrived, it was time for Shannon to walk down the aisle and meet her groom under the romantic oak trees and pergola.
Little did they know their bridal party had a special surprise – they acted as the officiants and took turns reading and singing their love story. It was the most special and sincere wedding ceremony and a memory that will most definitely last a lifetime.
The new Mr. & Mrs. Starkey were pronounced husband and wife and shared their first married kiss. Following the ceremony, the couple welcomed their guest to share in an evening full of delicious food *including a cheese wheel*, live entertainment, and love.
The reception space was beautifully decorated to match their whimsical forest theme. There were trees surrounding the space with twinkling lights, each guest table had books stacked with hanging boss and tall romantic candelabras. It was breathtaking.
The sweetheart table was set outside in front of the hedges *which created a natural hedge wall.* Every detail was carefully thought out – the space was brought to life.
Upon entering, guests were in awe – and that isn’t where the surprise ended. Shannon and Sage were introduced into the dreamy room and performed their first dance live – while singing! It was incredible.
Guests danced the night away while STG Live Band kept the party going. The room was full of love, laughter, dancing and singing ALL night long. It was such a special experience to witness.
Thank you so much Shannon and Sage for allowing Bella Sposa Events to be apart of your special day. We wish you both nothing but a lifetime of happiness, love and health.
And to the following vendors: thank you for making this event possible, we couldnt have done it without you
As Bella Sposa Events glances back on October 19, 2019 we remember the romantic and enchanting wedding that took place at Club Lake Plantation. It was Lauren & Jack’s wedding day – never have we experienced so much love in a room. It was such a perfect day.
This adorable couple – Jack and Lauren – met in high school, they were both on the Swimming and Water Polo team. Lauren had a BIG crush on Jack all throughout high school but the two did not start dating until college.
On a trip to Hawaii, Jack planned for a photoshoot with a local photographer. During the photos, Jack got down on one knee and proposed to the girl of his dreams. It was a picture perfect moment.
Funny enough, prior to their engagement the couple had already signed their contract with Club Lake Plantation! They knew they had to get married there from the second they stepped foot on property. Lauren says she fell in love instantly with the property and loved the cozy vibes the venue gave off.
After 14 months of planning their wedding from 2,000+ miles away – the couple’s wedding day was finally here!
Lauren spent the morning in the Club Lake bridal suite alongside her bridesmaids and mom. They had their hair and makeup done by the amazing ladies at Before the Aisle. The girls spent the morning laughing and creating special memories.
Before walking down the aisle, the couple took a moment to read letters from one another in private. It was such a sweet moment.
Once Lauren had her gorgeous Mia Solano gown on it was time for her grandfather to walk her down the aisle. Family and friends stood as the barn doors opened and all eyes went to Lauren. She looked absolutely stunning.
This special couple wanted to ensure their love story was accurately represented throughout their special day – both Lauren and Jack lost a parent and they wanted to feel their presence throughout the day.
During their personal vows, a sun shower started – they were both so nervous it wouldn’t stop. But after starting – it quickly ended and they both said it was their parents there with them showering them with love and blessing their marriage. *cue the tears*
After their personal vows were shared – they were pronounced husband and wife and shared their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs.
The couple welcomed guests to a cocktail hour for their enjoyment – while the couple escaped to take portraits with the talented Sarah Ormiston Photography.
Upon entering the reception space – the guests tables were elegantly decorated with taper stick candles they created a romantic element along with gorgeous floral arrangements and greenery. It was breathtaking.
Guests gathered for an evening full of delicious food, yummy drinks, amazing music and dancing, laughter and fun. It was such a perfect evening.
Our DJ Rocks got the party started and the dancing wouldn’t stop. The couple along with their friends and family had such a fun time. The room was full of love – it was radiating.
Thank you so much Lauren and Jack for allowing Bella Sposa to be a part of your special day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness and love.
